CAROLINE LUND
Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Caroline grew up in Stockton, California. A musician and performer from the start, she began singing and dancing in theatre and became a classically-trained violinist. Straight out of high school, Caroline was crowned Miss San Joaquin County with the Miss America Pageant Association and went on to compete in the Miss California pageant.
After ten years as a classical violinist, Caroline put down her bow to focus on theatre. Graduating with a B.A in theatre (with an acting emphasis) from San Francisco State University, Caroline continued to do theatre and starred in the independent film, “Burst” (directed by Aida Ghiday.)
During this time she also became a go-go dancer at San Francisco’s legendary Club Townsend (Club Universe/Pleasurdome). After several years as a featured dancer, she began managing dancers for the club until Townsend closed its doors. Caroline became a regular fixture in the SF nightclub scene as a dancer at some of it’s most popular, legendary nightclubs including End Up (Fag Fridays, Pop, Ghetto disco) DNA Lounge (Remedy) Ruby Skye (Fresh) Club Mezzanine (Matinee) and at one of San Francisco’s biggest tourist draws, the Folsom Street Fair (main stage). Caroline and her sister Elizabeth are also feature dancers for the Bay Area-based international jazz band, Mingus Amungus.
While continuing to dance, Caroline and the people she performed with (including various well-known dance divas) recognized that in addition to dancing, she had notable talent as a vocalist. She began working with well-known producers in creating high-energy dance music. Caroline set out to create her own exhilarating club sound, collaborating with talented, world-famous musicians and producers including Myron Dove (Santana), Leo Frappier (LFB Band), Keith Haarmeyer (Circuit Grooves 10.1), DJ Jamie Sanchez and, most recently, Vincent Brantley a.k.a Van Gogh (Boys II Men). Her music was well-received in clubs and at live performances at Club Universe, San Francisco Pride (main stage), Club Mezzanine, Vancouver Pride and Gay Days at Great America.
