From Euro to Pop to Trance, "Kompulsor" (Eugene Borodkin) has been behind a variety of electronic club music.
The 29-year-old music artist and producer from Washington, DC, has been active in the Dance/Trance community for a long time, since the early days of EuroTrance. he has worked with several famous European labels and producers, such as Dennis Bohn a.k.a. Brooklyn Bounce, Manuel Reuter a.k.a. Cascada, as well as the American label ISV Entertainment, who specializes in Euro music.
He is the author of several well-known HandsUp tracks which have achieved iconic status in the European dance community, such as "Your Girl", "Above The Sky" and "DJ Number One."
The Russian-born, US-raised Kompulsor first began his career as a DJ (2001-2005), bringing to American ears the hard German Trance sound of well-known German artists such as Pulsedriver, Central Seven, Brooklyn Bounce, and later Cascada, Kim Leoni, Groove Coverage, Akira, and others.
In 2007, he was signed by the Austrian label 'DJ Exclusive', with the vocal hit "Look At Me Now" - a Commercial Trancer in the style of Cascada and Groove Coverage. This track came with a smashing Partystylerz Remix on the B-side and reached good positions in the German charts.
In 2008, he released a modern Dance remake of the famous hit Melanie C - "I Turn To You," and in 2009 this was followed by his successful HandsUp cover of the megahit ATC - "Around The World (La La La La)", which was released on the prestigious German label "Mental Madness" with 4 remixes (including House) and topped European dance charts.
Indeed, the German version of EuroDance (HandsUp), with its characteristic hard bass and fast beats, continues to be Kompulsor's main genre and focus, for both his original tracks and remixes but in addition to HandsUp, so popular in Europe, Kompulsor also produces Pop, House, and Electro for the local American audiences.
His Pop style is the catchy, electro-infused sound of Lady Gaga.
Kompulsor recently released an Electro-Pop song called "Models & Bottles" which evokes Lady Gaga's catchy melodies and lyrics, and is destined straight for the dancefloor.
As a remixer, Kompulsor has also produced a number of remixes for various Pop/Dance projects, such as Yumm Yumm, Groove Enforcers feat. Lyck, Annick, Kaatchi, DJ Rad Feat Zoe and many more.
