MELLO-DEE
American producer and writer, Mello-Dee, also known as Joshua McFarland, was born in Pennsylvania. Throughout his childhood, he took piano lessons, played the French Horn, and was active in the church and school choir. Around the age of ten, Mello-Dee fell in love with Electronic Dance Music. He started musical production at the age of thirteen.
After a few years of practice with production, Josh began working with a Canadian artist, Elissa, where together they released the On Key Studios album entitled "On Air Volume 1" in February 2006. A number of his songs from the album were released on compilations throughout Singapore and Canada.
Shortly after working with On Key Studios, Dominique Toulon, the founder of CAPP Records located in the San Francisco Bay Area, contacted Josh with interest in his productions. In February 2008, "Out Of Time", a single by debut artist Rikah, was released. The single included a Mello-Dee Club Remix which received high reviews. The remix was also featured on German world-renowned DJ Shah's Mellomania Mix Set in late 2007.
In September of 2009, Rikah's new single "Day After Day" was released containing a high energy Mello-Dee Remix. Also in 2009, Mello-Dee worked with Norwegian singer, Ida Helen Fjeld, and produced a beautiful Chillout track called "One For A Moment". The song has not been released. Despite not being released, the track caused a huge buzz among music producers and listeners alike.
Today Mello-Dee resides in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Recently he visited San Francisco, California and loved it there. With a number of musician friends and producers living in the region, he is considering a move to the Bay Area. For 2010, Mello-Dee is continuing to produce a number of Chillout productions as well as some fresh new Dance and House tracks. Stay tuned for a lot to come within the next year.
