If you love the kind of trance that has a bit of an attitude and hard in equal measures, ...then you will love this debut album. This is the place where uplifting and very memorable trance hooks & melody lines meet rhythm sections and drum lines that pack one hell of a punch. ‘Inside Your Head’ kicks things off with a sexy and sensual vibe. Sapphira Kelly’s vocals add sparkle and allure. ‘White Label’ marks a decidedly electronic turn.
What could have been standard trance fare is given a gloss and energy which raises it above the norm. ‘Blacklight’ delves between darkness and light in rapid succession. Hard beats give way to an exceedingly memorable trance melody line. These two elements are at a standoff until being brought together in an anthemic climax.
‘This is London’ is a chest-beating-Godzilla-wrestling stormer... the sound Hiett makes along the way is pure fast-twitch fibre stuff. Big melody and bass lines, big riffs, big ideas. Drum and Bass meets electro house meets trance in a way that, well, sums up London.
From here, the tracks get darker with a wink and a nod towards the acid sounds which have made the British dance scene famous.
